About

We sell plug-in solar so the UK doesn't have to wait for permission.

SocketPower is a trading name of Storm Renewables Ltd (SC802881), a Scottish company founded in 2026 by Lee Brandie. We exist because Germany has installed four million plug-in solar systems in five years and the UK has installed zero — not because the technology is hard, but because nobody bothered to bring it here.

The regulatory door opened in April 2026 with Amendment 4 of BS 7671. We opened the shop the same day.

What we believe

That a household should not need scaffolding, a 12-week installer wait, and a £7,000 quote to put solar on their building. That renters deserve cleaner energy too. That a regulator-approved 800W panel sitting on your balcony is a more useful piece of infrastructure than a press release about Net Zero.

What we sell

Plug-in solar kits, individual components, and the legally-required G98 DNO notification service. Every kit ships with the G98 included. We don't install — by design, you don't need us to. We do answer the phone if you get stuck.

Where we are

Registered in Scotland. Warehouse and ops in central Scotland. UK-wide delivery.
