About

Bringing plug-in solar to Great Britain.

SocketPower is a trading name of Storm Renewables Ltd (SC802881), a Scottish company founded in 2026 by Lee Brandie. We exist because plug-in solar has been mainstream across much of Europe for years, and Great Britain is only now getting a framework for it.

That framework arrives on 27 August 2026, when the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Amendment) Regulations 2026 commence, alongside the UK Government's final Plug-in Solar Device Interim Product Specification. We open for orders the same day.

What we believe

That a household should not need scaffolding, a long installer wait and a five-figure quote to generate some of its own electricity. That people who rent deserve cleaner energy too, with their landlord’s permission. That an 800 VA plug-in system standing in a garden or on a patio is a more useful piece of infrastructure than another Net Zero press release.

What we sell

Complete, matched plug-in solar kits within the 800 VA framework, and G98 network notification support. We sell kits only, not loose parts: a plug-in solar device has to be supplied and used as one tested combination. Every kit includes the applicable G98 notification handled by us. We do not install; the framework is designed so that you do not need an installer for a compliant plug-in device, but you must refer anything involving your circuit to a qualified electrician.

Where we are

Registered in Scotland. Warehouse and operations in central Scotland. Delivery across Great Britain.
