Cookies Policy

This page describes the cookies and similar technologies used on socketpower.co.uk. We have kept it to what the site actually does.

Strictly necessary

Your shopping basket is stored locally in your browser so it survives a page reload. This is browser storage rather than a cookie in the technical sense, but the same principles apply. Our checkout is hosted by Shopify, which sets its own strictly necessary cookies to keep your session and process payment; see Shopify's own privacy and cookie information for details.

Analytics and performance

We use PostHog to understand how visitors move through the site — pages viewed, calls to action clicked and use of the savings calculator. We also use Google Analytics. These tools are loaded only on the live socketpower.co.uk domain, and form fields are masked so the content you type is not captured.

We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for their own purposes.

Advertising and measurement

We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and use the Meta pixel, together with Meta's Conversions API, to measure whether an advert led to a visit or a purchase. This involves cookies set by Meta (_fbp) and, where you arrive from an advert, a click identifier in the link (fbclid, stored as _fbc).

We also record campaign parameters in the address bar (for example utm_source and utm_campaign) so we can see which campaign a visit came from. These identifiers may be passed to our Shopify checkout and, for completed orders, sent to Meta in a hashed form so a purchase can be attributed to the right advert.

Email and customer records

When you contact us or subscribe, your details are stored in our customer relationship system so we can reply and, where you have asked for them, send updates. That is described in our Privacy Policy.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and clear the site's local storage in the same place. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the basket or checkout from working. You can also opt out of personalised advertising through your Meta and Google account settings.
